The Video and the People

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the three individuals who help the MarchOfHonor.Org in their first video – MOH

Heidi Voight is former Ms. Connecticut 2006 and strong supporter of the United States military and Veterans. She is a member of numerous Veterans groups including American Legion Auxiliary, American Legion Riders, Association of the United States Army, AUSA Riders, Patriot Guard Riders and national spokesperson for the Missing In America Veterans Recovery Project. Ms Voight is passionate about supporting our nation’s heroes and their families. This year Heidi participated in the 34th Anniversary Marine Corps Marathon as a Community Athlete for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund lending her support to this important cause. In addition to her Veterans activities Ms. Voight is also an active voice for abused women and children representing this cause on both the state and national stage. Ms Voight is smart, articulate, dedicated and a valuable public servant for those in need. The March Of Honor is proud to be associated with Ms. Voight and thanks her for her support with the MarchOfHonor.org “A National Day Of Recognition”

Spc. Ron Whiteman Ret. served with the Army’s 1st Battalion 12th Infantry Division 4th ID in the central highlands of Vietnam 1966-67. An American who served his country with distinction but also bore the rigors of war in a time that made it very difficult for returning Veterans to readjust to civilian life. Difficult times followed Mr. Whiteman’s return from Vietnam and lasted into his early 30’s when he found redemption and peace in a community of faith. The years that have followed, Mr Whiteman has dedicated to being a voice and advocate for those who do not have a voice of their own. A husband, father, minister and worldly man, Mr. Whiteman has spent his most recent years as a chaplain for the American Foreign Legion, Post 7666 in Connecticut.

He is a stark reminder of both a generation and war past, a Vietnam Veteran who remains in our present. The March Of Honor asked Mr. Whiteman to stand with the project because he symbolizes millions of older Americans whose war ended 35-40 years ago on the battlefield but never in their hearts and minds. Men like Mr. Whiteman are vivid reminders of an obligation and duty that all Americans have today to respect and look after this generation of returning Veterans from OEF and OIF. Mr. Ron Whiteman stands with the March Of Honor because its his chance to do for this generation and nation’s soldiers what he had wish many in his generation would have done for him.

Logan Brynes is an anchor of the Fox 61 Morning News in Connecticut. A familiar face to Connecticut’s news viewers, Mr. Byrnes was also a frequent guest host of “The Talk of Connecticut” on WDRC-AM. The March Of Honor went to Logan and asked to use his talents to help craft the first of many March Of Honor videos that will be released. Mr. Byrnes has donated his time and efforts to many causes both in CT and nationally and has always been a strong voice for the Non-Profit sector where ever he has worked. The March Of Honor thanks Logan for his time and hopes to find other roles for him to play in the future with the MarchOfHonor.Org
